To Fill A Backpack

The Backpack program started in 2008 and over the past 13 years have distributed close to 10,000 filled backpacks to children and families in need. As they head in to their 14th year of distributing in 6 counties including Potter, McKean, Cameron, Tioga, Bradford and Lycoming they hope to be able to continue to help more families in need. Along with having to purchase school clothes, new footwear and other items needed to start the student off on the right foot. For the new school year the Backpack program is there to help alleviate some of the new school year costs by supplying the filled backpacks that include basic supplies like pencils, erasers, tablets, rulers, kleenex and 2 pocket portfolios along with other donated items. With the rising costs a parent can pay well over $50 per child to purchase even just the basic supplies that the Backpack program supplies.
